The most expensive “finance team” in a 12-person Indian services firm is often the founder on Sunday night, copying invoice PDFs into WhatsApp.
GST invoice reminder financial automation software sounds technical. The job is not. An invoice exists, a due date exists, money did or did not arrive. The software should nag so a human does not have to.
This is accounts receivable automation for Indian service businesses - agencies, advisors, CA practices, retainers. Not a consumer spending app.
Automate the follow-up before you automate the books Tally, Zoho, or a CA’s portal may already hold the ledger. What usually has no system is the chase:
- Day 0: invoice emailed (and sitting in spam).
- Day 7: nobody followed up because everyone thought someone else did.
- Day 21: awkward call, client “did not see it,” you send it again.
A useful first automation: scheduled reminder with the PDF or a portal link, in your tone, after 7 and 14 days, skipped if status is paid. That alone is financial automation software. It does not need AI.
Partial payments will break naive tools Indian clients pay 40%, then 40%, then “we will do GST extra next month.” If your tool only knows paid/unpaid, staff will keep a side sheet. Build partials and a remaining balance into the reminder copy (“₹42,000 still due on INV-104”).
UPI and bank reconciliation financial automation software - second, not first Matching a UPI notification to an invoice is valuable. It is also messy: wrong amount, paid to the personal UPI, paid for two bills at once. Do not block reminders on perfect matching. Let ops tick “received, bank, 3 Sep” with a note. Add CSV or statement matching when the reminder loop is trusted.
What the email or WhatsApp should sound like Not “Dear Valued Customer, your accounts receivable aging…” Your clients know you. Two lines, invoice number, amount, due date, pay link or “reply PAID.” Same language your team already uses.
If you already want a custom financial app with GST and UPI, reminders are the automation layer on top of that ledger - not a separate product.
A four-week slice Week 1: invoice list and statuses. Week 2: reminder rules and templates. Week 3: client link so they download without pinging you. Week 4: a simple overdue report for Monday.
Rastogi Codeworks ships this as part of billing portals and workflow automation - rules first, matching later. Contact us if the Sunday-night WhatsApp pile is the actual product requirement.
