This month’s headlines are full of AI platforms that promise to reconcile GSTR-2B, talk to Tally, and file while you sleep. Some of that software will be useful. None of it fixes the thread named “ITR 2025-26 - final???”
Partners still lose hours because:
- The computation is in a junior’s laptop.
- The client has version four in chat and you have version six in Drive.
- Outstanding fees sit in a sheet that nobody opened in March.
Buy the filing product. Build the client layer. Let Tally, the GST portal, and whoever you trust handle returns. The custom layer is the login: documents, status, invoices. That is the product clients notice. It is also the product that makes your team look like a firm, not a WhatsApp bureau.
New “agentic” GST tools still need clean inputs and a human who signs. If the input is a screenshot, the AI is theatre.
What version one looks like - Client login. - This year’s folder: computation, acknowledgement, invoice. - Status: documents received / in progress / filed. - Fee outstanding, without a Sunday-night chase from a personal number.
We wrote the longer version for CA firms in Delhi NCR. The September 2026 update is simpler: do not skip the portal because a demo promised autonomous filing.
Read for CA firms or book a call with one engagement type that always explodes in chat.
